2014 Show Season Recap

Another wonderful year for our little pack. We’ve presented before 48 judges this year with great reception. Our Shibas have worked so hard, accomplishing multiple Best in Show wins. Plus! Ryu, Beni, Yoshi and Akuto are the 2014 Top Four Shibas in the United States! Just how cool is that?!

Ryu received his Championship in just 1 weekend at 6 months old. He is the youngest puppy to earn his Championship. He went on to earn his Grand Championship at 8-1/2 months old; another first! Winner of multiple Best in Show wins, this boy loves showing. At only 15 months, Ryu won Best of Breed under all 6 judges at Nationals and went on to win 3 group placements against almost 100 other dogs. He is the 2014 #1 Shiba, earning more than 3 times the points of last year’s winner and so many more points than any other Shiba in history that he is untouchable. He also finished in the top 2% of all breeds for 2014.

Beni is the #2 Shiba for 2014; second only to one, her brother Ryu. In fact, she has earned more points than all but 4 other Shibas, ever. She earned her Championship in just one weekend last year, and now that she has earned her Grand Championship, she will be retired from showing. Beni has matured so beautifully, we just can not wait to have her become a mother and spend her time rearing her offspring. We will be keeping two of her puppies, so she will be a busy mom!

Yoshi had a lot of competition just in his own household, but that didn’t stop him. This was Yoshi’s first year to show. He earned his Championship as well as more points than many #1 Shibas of previous years. This boy has matured slowly and steadily and has been many judges’ favorite. Yoshi has learned all he needs to impress in the show ring, so will continue to show next year.

Akuto has had an exceptional year. He earned his Grand Championship and is the 2014 #4 Shiba. Like the others in his pack, he has more points than last year’s #1 Shiba as well as multiple #1 Shibas of previous years. He has learned remarkable showmanship and has a genuine sense of pride in the show ring.

2013 Show Season Recap

This is my first year showing our beautiful Shibas; my first year to show dogs.  I’m very proud of our dogs and working diligently to learn everything I can to show them in the most complimentary way.  Competing for Best in Show is a great honor.  It means the judges have ranked my dog as one of the best 7 dogs competing in the show! Four of our dogs have had this honor. We accomplished a lot in just 3-1/2 months!
